As we strive to be a church that is Making God's Love Known, we want to honor Jesus's life by serving our community in various ways. Please email either Pastor Lynn Leonard at pastor@st-lukesumc.com or Maresi Brown at familyministries@st-lukesumc.com with any questions about these ministries.

St. Luke's is a praying community! We offer a prayer and anointing for those who desire it each Monday evening at 5:30 when our Food Pantry is open for distribution. Our phone and email prayer chains are also quite active in making urgent needs known to our praying congregation. If you have a prayer request, please click here to submit it.

Food Pantry

One of the hardest things in a struggling economy is to make tough financial choices - rent or food? We understand that challenge and so in partnership with Feeding America Tampa Bay and other organizations, the St. Luke's UMC Food Pantry has fed tens of thousands of people in its lifetime. Simply bring your photo I.D. to the Pantry on Mondays between 5:00-6:30pm, and receive an assortment of fruits & vegetables, meats, dry and pantry goods for you and your family.

Feeding The Hungry

St. Luke's also commits to bringing a hot meal to serve the people coming to the St. Vincent DePaul Society (384 15th Street N) twice monthly. If you would like to serve on either the cooking team or the serving team, contact the church office here.

Recovery Groups

St. Luke's is host to three groups - Alcoholics Anonymous, which meets at 7:30pm on Mondays, Al-Anon, meeting at 10:30am on Wednesdays, Al-Anon, meeting at 11:30am on Thursdays, and Al-Anon for Spanish speakers which meets at 6pm on Thursdays.

Children and Youth Ministry

Wednesdays at 5:30, children in grades K-5 are welcomed to the TreeHouse! With experienced adult leaders they sing songs, do service projects, hear Bible stories, and enjoy fun with each other. For youth in grades 6&7, our Tweens group gathers together to learn more about God and how they are loved by him - acts of service and making time for fun are both a vital part of this group. For students in grades 8-12, the Youth group is working together to explore how they fit into the epic story God is writing with his people. They also express their love for others by performing good deeds in the community.

On most first Fridays from 6-9pm, the Tweens and Youth are welcomed at The Rock, a time to just relax and have fun, playing games and laughing together.

Mens & Womens Groups

Our United Methodist Men's group is active in our Feeding the Hungry ministry and also meet for breakfast on the first Saturday of each month at 7:30am for breakfast and devotions. They also frequently gather for Bible Study on Saturdays at 8:30am.
The United Methodist Women are dedicated to missions and supporting the work of many service organizations in the local and worldwide community. They gather for fellowship and study monthly on the 2nd Tuesday, and have other special meeting times - see our calendar of events for more information!
