St. Luke's currently offers three adult Sunday School options, as well as classes for children and youth, all at 9:30AM...
WESLEYAN CLASS
A lecture-format class with a book available for every member of the class. This class draws more mature men
and women who are presently working with the Cokesbury Bible Studies, which are designed as a quarterly publication to help adults understand
the meaning and authority of the Bible for Christian life. The class format is one of presentation and materials with a time for questions and
answers following the presentation. This is a very sharing, caring and intimate group of thirty to fifty people.
KOINONIA CLASS (koinonia is Greek for "fellowship")
A lecture-based class with some smaller group discussion. This class is composed of a varied age group, and
studies books of the Bible such as Ephesians, Philippians and Colossians in a lecture/study book format. The class begins with prayer,
continues with Bible lecture, includes small group discussions, occasional skits and the presentation of special reports. The class also
participates in sponsorship of a child in South America and adopts needy children during the Christmas season with gifts.
The benefits of this class of thirty-five to forty people are knowing our Lord Jesus Christ and the fellowship both in class and at special
parties throughout the year. Meet with us at 9:30AM for refreshments.
FAITHWALKERS CLASS
An in-depth Bible study exploring various issues facing God's people. Meets after a social time following the SpiritWalk contemporary service.
The class is informal with discussion encouraging each member to participate. Lesson material is made available in class.
LIGHTHOUSE
For children age 2 to 5th grade. Classes are broken up by age groups. Your children will learn about the Bible and the lessons we can learn from
it. Crafts, games and a snack are all a part of this time together. LightHouse I is for ages 2 thru 5, and they meet off the nursery in the
Preschool section of the building. LightHouse II is for grades Kindergarten thru 3rd grade, and they meet upstairs on the second floor.
LightHouse III is for grades 4 and 5, and they meet upstairs also. All rooms are clearly marked. All classes use curriculum approved by the
United Methodist church with stories and activities straight from the Bible.
YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL
Youth in grades 6-12 are invited to a class focusing on biblical themes, faith questions, and life issues facing teens today.
Class meets in the recreation room upstairs and is an inter-discussion format.
